In 2010 I set out to construct my own Longtail Cargo Bike based on a 26″ front wheel and a 20″ rear wheel.  My goal was to build a solid platform capable of hauling hundreds of pounds of either static or dynamic cargo (e.g. human or otherwise) in a stable manner.  I wished to have a comfortable ride for both the driver as well as a passenger and I set out to create it all from scrap bikes, metal, and parts.

The build was completed in the Spring of 2010 and I have now been riding the steed for five years with excellent results.  I have used it to move all of my belongings multiple times, it has hauled as much as 500 lbs. of rider/cargo, it has carried humans, dogs, beer kegs, recycling, and myriad other loads.

I am damn proud of my DIY Longtail Cargo Bike named The RecycleCycle.
